In April myself and my man headed to Boston for a wedding and of course I managed to fit cupcake tasting in! We tried out Sweet in Cambridge. I fell in love with the cute little cafe. They had great decorating and lots of cupcakes to choose from. We tried lemon, chocolate donut, vanilla, and carmel chocolate. I have to say the chocolate donut was my favorite. I loved that they made it look like a donut by cutting out a bit in the center and adding sprinkles. However, as for taste they were just ok. The cafe's decor far out weighed the quality of the cupcakes. The cake did not have much flavor and the icing was an unusual stiff dense buttercream. I would have to give the cupcakes a 3 on the cupcake scale.

Totally sucks when the place has all the aesthetics down, but the cupcake falls short of the atmosphere. Oh well. I guess you'll have to stick to the cannolis in the North End.
